What is Divorce Planning?
"Planning for the Best while Preparing for the Worst."
In speaking with clients and friends who have divorced, the comments of “I gave up more than I had to” and “I didn’t know what I didn’t know” are a common thread.
Pre-Divorce Planning involves risk management through the creation of a life style analysis, future budgeting for known life needs and for the unexpected, quantifiable decisions on keeping or selling the marital residence, equitable distribution analysis and how to retire marital debt.
Divorce Planning differs from Divorce Financial Planning in its focus is on early planning intervention, as opposed to planning for the future after the divorce.
A Divorce Planner is not a replacement for an attorney, tax advisors, financial advisor, or therapist. It is an independent compliment to these, with no dog in the fight.
The focus is on early planning, the here-and-now and on the future.
It is the careful development of a comprehensive strategy and corresponding tactics that allow individuals either considering or in the process of a divorce that are anxious about how they will afford their obligations during and after their divorce to plan and protect their C.R.A.D.L.E. so that they can exit their divorce legally, emotionally and fiscally intact and ensuring that all the professionals involved in their divorce are paid in full.
